Des étudiantes de l’Université de Gand ont examiné, dans le cadre d’un mémoire de master, comment les hommes vivent le suivi après une tumeur germinale ou testiculaire. Bien que les chances de survie soient élevées, de nombreux patients présentent encore des plaintes physiques et psychosociales. L’étude montre qu’il existe un besoin de suivi plus personnalisé, tenant compte à la fois des besoins médicaux et émotionnels. L’accompagnement infirmier joue un rôle important à cet égard.
