Ongeneeslijk zieke patiënten met kanker kunnen te maken krijgen met palliatieve sedatie of euthanasie. Hoewel beide interventies onderdeel zijn van het levenseinde van de patiënt, zijn er belangrijke verschillen. Tijdens het afgelopen jaarcongres van de Vereniging Verpleegkundigen Radiotherapie en Oncologie gaf prof. dr. Wim Distelmans (VUB/UZ Brussel) een presentatie over deze verschillen tussen palliatieve sedatie en euthanasie.
